Earthworks Heating Limited are specialist installers of Ground Source Heat Pumps from domestic properties to larger commercial or district heat projects. We install in new build homes as well as retro-fit into existing properties.

We only install GSHP

We can take you through from survey, design, installation of ground arrays or boreholes, heat pump sizing, internal distribution systems and commissioning.

Why install a GSHP?

In the right situation a GSHP is a very efficient method of heating or cooling a building as well as a source of hot water. In a well insulated house and using a correctly installed system, efficiencies of over 1:4 can be achieved. This can equate to a domestic property using oil or LPG making savings of over 60%.

As fossil fuel prices are set to increase in the future and the government setting tough targets to reduce carbon emissions a GSHP is a well proven method of renewable energy. New proposed government incentives such as the Renewable Heat Incentive will make the installation of a GSHP even more attractive.

As the heat pump has few parts and is relatively simple it has very little maintenance issues and will therefore have a significantly longer life expectancy than a gas or oil boiler. This will bring further savings from not having to regularly replace your boiler and expensive call out charges.

Architects and developers are facing new demands from the government to meet sustainable building designs such as the Merton Rules and the GSHP is a viable option to meet these requirements.

How does it work?

Using free solar energy stored in the ground or in the local water course, the heat pump uses this to heat the building. For cooling, the system can be switched in reverse, taking the heat out of the building. Working very much like a domestic fridge.

Our Services

*Geothermal heating and cooling installations.

* Ground Source Heat Pumps.

* Ground array and ground loop design and installation.

* Geothermal drilling.

* Grants and feed in tariffs advice available.
Heat pumps extract solar energy stored in the ground, water courses and in the air and convert this to a higher temperature to use in a building’s heating distribution system.

Compact Heat Pump will operate on single or three phase power supplies and can provide both space heating and domestic hot water.
